March 4-11 from his facebook

March 4
I took a shot of a director commenting on his film. While a rear-projection TV projected a part of his film in his background, he talked about the film.
When the PRTV is the background, the "flicker" phenomena would occur if I didn't use a shutter speed of 1/60 sec. I bumped the gain up to 3dB and chose F/1.7 to avoid underexposure. Based on those camera settings, we had to adjust a light to the director without lighting on the screen.
It was the best to take this shot with 1/30 sec. Since the HMC155 didn't have it, I had to add the gain to have more light. The syncro scan mode was possibly used, but in that case, I needed to figure it out.

March 11
I'm heading to Shimonoseki, and planning to get back to the island of Honshu on the local train. I arrived here too early. I need to kill time for about 20 minutes. It's cold!

March 11
Looking down on the Kanmon Straits from the open-air spa in our hotel, I could capture Ganryu Island behind the warehouse.
Magic of light!
