-What was wrong with him tonight?
Kwan: Last time I spoke to Jeremy he said he had this recurring nightmare of skating horribly at the major competition. Tonight was that nightmare comes true. He made the three major mistakes. First, with his quad–triple jump which was a fall. Second was doing a double instead of the triple toe loop. Third was singling his triple axel. And you just can't do it. These are the Olympic Games where everyone is kicking get up a notch. You can't afford those.
-This could be actually good thing going for, especially before he had until his SP for the men's competition.
Kwan: I really think, in the long term, this will be good for Jeremy. Get out of the judders. Let it go. He talks about nerve a lot. And I think getting out there... Unfortunately it was the competition tonight. Getting out there in the team event for short program tonight and making the all mistakes, ok you can turn the page and move on into the individual program. And now Marissa Castelli and Simon Shnapir, America's national champion, they said it was really nice to get out there and it was the unique opportunity to get out there on the Olympic ice. Their advantages to the team event are where you can use it as the warm-up. And Jeremy needs to use it as the warm-up and then move on.
I am not the Kwan watcher or anything. But some of the clips from the fox sports have better information about this sport
I hope their idea of using the experience at the team figure skating as the warm-up would apply for all the skaters who participated in the event.
