If Patrick Chan achieved perfection like his nationals, he would be one of the favorites to win a medal.
Takahashi or Chan?
The competition is going to be very exciting.

-Now here's Patrick Chan, the four time Canadian champion via a Skype from Colorado Springs, his training base. Patrick, last time we talked, you were waiting. You didn't know if or win. Now, you know it's Moscow. How are you feeling about that?
"I'm very relieved. To be honest, I can finally have a deadline to my training. And we can figure out purification for my training as well. And it was a bit of a limbo during the time when we didn't have any news. We had some news, it's finally a big relief. I'm really excited."
-Patrick, with this delay, how has that affected your training plan? How are you handling? It must be so difficult when you had the end inside then you had all that changes. How are you adapting?
"I'm actually being able to step back a little bit at my training. After I started to take more days off, I kind of paced myself a little more. Each training session has a little more quality, not so much quantity. My run-throughs are softened as usual. For example, I'm doing my short and long program each day. So I set up two everyday. I'm just doing one each day. So I kind of have an easier schedule. It is easier of my body."
-Patrick, you've been full of surprises in this year's competitions. You opened this season adding quads in a short and a long. And you stepped up at the nationals with two quads in one program. Any surprises and changes you are preparing to make for the World championships.
"Unfortunately no, I wish I had more tricks. But, no, everything is going to stay as it is, as was at the Nationals. Hopefully, I can skate all the way I want to. And the way I did at Nationals was great to skate at the nationals and a good start to training for Worlds, and I'm really, really, excited and I've got lot more confident with the two quads in a long program and in a short program. It's unless what can be possible at the Worlds."

-One quick one, Patrick. You had targeted to win at Cup of Russia. You came second of Verner and after that you consulted Brian Boitano. Are you confident about going Russia at this time?
"Very confident. I can tell you that you give me one chance, if I don't do the first time, I think it's second time I'll do it. And I think the second time is going to be Moscow. It's going to be perfect. I think God has waited for a nedthing. I'm really comfortable and familiar with the hotel and the venue. This time I'm more mentally prepared as better than last time. Thanks to Brian and all the tips he's given me, it's been very helpful."
