STAY MENTALLY STRONG. They didn't do this against the Cardinals. They got running back Steven Jackson back, but didn't block much for him. Check out his video (to the left). The young linebackers, Joplo Bartu and Paul Worrilow, are going to have better days. With nine games to play, they'll likely be favored in just three more games (Tampa Bay, Buffalo and Washington). Could they really finish 5 11? So, that's basically 1 of 5. The Falcons are not showing any signs of a turnaround.
GAME BALL: Special teamer Antone Smith had the best play of the game. He out ran two blockers and dropped Arizona punt returner Patrick Peterson before he could get rolling.
D Quarterback: Matt Ryan is one tough hombre. He was sacked four times and hit 11times as the parade of rushers through the Falcons' backfield continued. He was forced to throw and tossed four interceptions. That's nine in the last two games vs. the Cardinals. His passer rating of 47.2, was the fourth lowest of his career. He had a 29.2 vs. Tampa Bay during his rookie season. He had a 40.5 last season against Arizona, when he tossed five interceptions, and a 46.6 against New Orleans during the 2009 season.
C Running backs: From the press box and the sideline, there didn't appear to be much room for Steven Jackson and Jacquizz Rodgers to run. Teams have caught on to the screen and draw game. When the Falcons line up to power the ball Youth Logan Couture Jersey at teams, they've been unsuccessful.
C Wide receivers/Tight ends: Roddy White is expected to play against Carolina, according to tight end Tony Gonzalez. He missed his second straight game after his 133 consecutive game played streak was snapped. Harry Douglas had a career high 12 catches for 121 yards. Drew Davis caught five passes for 77 yards. Darius Johnson had four catches for 40 yards. However, they failed to impact the game when things were in question.
D minus Offensive Line: Somehow, Matt Ryan is alive. Left tackle Sam Baker was declared inactive and was replaced in the starting lineup by Lamar Holmes, who made his fourth start of the season at left tackle. He started the first two games of the season at right tackle. Jeremy Trueblood appeared to have the most difficult time of the group in pass protection. It was a total unit failure in the run game.
C Defensive line: Defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux turned in a big game. He had seven tackles, a sack and three tackles for a loss, one quarterback hit and one forced fumble. Corey Peters added a sack and Peria Jerry had half of sack. The Cardinals were the fourth straight team to rush for more than 100 yards against the Falcons. The Cardinals rushed for 201 yards on 30 carries (6.7 yards per carry.)
D Linebackers: Paul Worrilow had six tackles. Women's Brent Burns Jersey Joplo Bartu had four and a half a sack, but he was the player who had a missed tackle on Andre Ellington's 80 yard touchdown run.
C minus Defensive Brent Burns M Jersey backs: Asante Samuel came up with his 51st career interception. But he appeared to pass off Arizona wide receiver Teddy Williams to safety William Moore, who jumped Larry Fitzgerald's route instead. Desmond Trufant, who's played like a seasoned veteran for most of the season, had a couple of rookie mistakes.
B Special teams: Antone Smith continued to shine in coverage. Matt Bosher had a strong day punting and Matt Bryant made his two field goal attempts. Also, Robert McClain took over as the punt returner and averaged 13.5 yards on two returns. Bosher averaged 46.8 net yards on four punts and placed two inside the 20.
C Coaches: The Falcons appeared to have gotten too young, too fast and at too many positions. The run defense and run blocking was very troubling in this one. Those are areas that don't generally improve over the course of a season. They made Arizona running back Andre Ellington look like Barry Sanders.
