命名書は赤ちゃんにとっては初めての行事です。
お七夜と呼ばれ、平安時代から続く儀式🙇♀️
昔は赤ちゃんが必ず無事に育つとは限らない時代だった為、節目の七日目を迎えられたことをお祝いしたのが由来だそうです。
本来は、誕生後七日目に赤ちゃんの名前をつけて、半紙に名前を書いて、神棚に貼り、お宮参りまでの１ヶ月間飾ります。
ただ最近では、記念にと時期を気にせずに飾る方が増えてきています。
兄弟の名前を二人並べて飾る方もいます。
昔のしきたりとは逆になりますが、少し飾って片付けてしまう物ではなく、ずっと飾っていられる物を作りたいと思い始めました。
部屋に飾っている時に、あの頃はこんなに小さかかったのにと、一緒に子供の成長を喜んでもらえたら嬉しいです😊
将来を想いつけた大切な名前なので、作品づくりと同じ様に一枚一枚とても時間をかけて揮毫しています。

In Japan, the naming ceremony is the first event for a baby.
It is called Oshichiya, this ceremony that has continued since the Heian period.
In the old days, babies did not always grow up safely, so it is said that the origin of the ceremony was to celebrate the milestone of the seventh day.
Originally, on the seventh day after the baby's birth, the baby's name would be written on a piece of half-sheet of paper, pasted on a Shinto altar, and displayed for a month before the shrine visit.
Recently, more and more people are decorating them without worrying about the time of year as a memorial.
Some people display them names of two siblings side by side.
This is contrary to the old custom, but I wanted to make something that can be displayed for a long time, not something that can be put away after a short time.
I would be happy if, when they are displayed in their rooms, they can enjoy the growth of their children together, even though they were so small back then.
Since these names are very important to me, I spend as much time writing them as I do creating the artwork.
