In the Kyoto Imperial Park, there are other shrines
dedicated to the goddeses.
This is "Itsukushima Shrine",
It's a branch of "Itsukushima shrine" in Hiroshima.
A Long long time ago, thre were many estates of
court nobles.
The site on which this shrine stands was
formerly an estate of the noble Kujyo family.
Ordinaly, Taira no Kiyomori, a" busho"
who lived in the end of the Heian period,
made a shrine which was dedicated to
Isukushima okami(god) in Hyogo
for his motrher "Gion Nyougo".
After a while, Yoshiharu Ashikaga
transfered this shrine to Kyoto.
It then became know as "Sarasvati of the Spring".
Now it's dedicated to
Ichikisima hime no mikoto
Tagori hime no mikoto
Tagitsu hime no mikoto,
they are well Known as the three sister goddeses
of Munakata Shrine in Fukuoka,
as well as Gion Nyougo, mother of Taira no Kiyomori.
This gate is designated as an important artifact.
I felt graceful energy in the shrine.
Looking at the elegant Sarasvati,
I felt it was suitable for the estate of a court noble.
