As you can see, many of the items featured on this blog are sold by shops on
Etsy
. But what is Etsy? Well, Etsy is an online marketplace where people can sell handmade, vintage, and supply items. The handmade items must be made by the person selling them and the vintage items must be at least 20 years old.
You can use their search option, browse through the categories, or use one of their many helpful shopping tools to find items you like. You can add individual items or sellers to your list of favorites, aka, "hearted items."
Each shop will have their own items, individual policies, and customer information. If you see something you wish to purchase, simply add the individual item to your cart. When you add an item to your cart, it is removed from the seller's shop. So do not add items to your cart unless you plan on buying them within a reasonable amount of time.
It is up to each individual shop to dictate where they are willing to ship to. Each listing will say how much an item costs to ship and where it is available to ship to. A lot of sellers combine shipping for a small additional amount added to the overall shipping cost.
It is also up to the individual shop to choose what payment forms are acceptable. Most will take Paypal and credit cards while some take money orders. Please make sure what they accept before purchasing.
When you are ready to purchase fill out your shipping information during checkout and select your payment type. After you've hit the "commit to buy" button you MUST pay each shop individually. Failing to do so can result in negative feedback and removal from Etsy. If you choose to pay via Paypal or Credit Card, you will be taken to the Paypal Checkout screen. Here you can either log into your account or put in your CC number and address. Please make sure your Paypal/Credit address matches the address you put in during Etsy checkout.
After payment you can check your status at your account page. After you have received (or not received) your item, it is a polite etiquette to leave the seller feedback. You can do this on the Feedback section of your home page.
Etsy overall is an amazing place to find unique and one of a kind items. It is personally my favorite place to look when I'm in search for something new.
