Today I would like to write about 5th night of sugar festival.
-5th night(16/09/14)-
"Teens Queen Night"
This night was my biggest night. I was one of the contestant of "Teens queen" categories.
We have "Sugar Queen contest", "Sugar king contest", "Teens queen contest" and "gay night".
Kodai took part of "Sugar king night". (Please check yesterday blog:)))
And yes. I took part of "Teens queen night".
We, contestants had training every Saturday by the host of Sugar festival, Michael Faga for 3weeks.
It really impressed me a lot and it made me confident.
The training help me to get ready to stand in front of big big big crowd.
I joined a training for the contestants and enjoyed being close to them there.
I'm glad to have my new brothers and sisters:)
During the training, we learnt how to walk, talk, wave and stand like a man, like a lady.
The training brought me forward to be a lady:))

I made my script with my ESL lv. 5 teacher.
He gave me a lot of ideas to make my introduction part very nice:)
It was bit hard for me to write the formal speech...:p
....Meke....
It was really hard for me to decide what to do for my Talent part.
I wanted to play the Trombone but I couldn't get the instrument...
So I had to look for another talent.
I always wanted to try Fijian dance since I came to Fiji.
So I decided why don't I try Meke for the festival!!
The dance I wanted to do was hard and no one in my school could teach me. So I tried "Ra sa cariba".
Ema and Ms. Cagi taught me how to dance.
Actually I started to practice 2weeks before the night of the contest.
I did my best to practice practice and PRACTICE.
I practiced at my home too.
Because we(Kodai and local students who joined his dance and mine) didn't have any place to practice.
As I wrote in the blog yesterday, we practiced in Kitchen too.
We practiced every afternoon after school but the place to practice was different all the time.
My dance partner was Rupeni. He is my best partner:))
....THE NIGHT....
Firstly, there was a private judging with the judges for that night.
While I was sitting and waiting for the judges I already felt nervous and I couldn't stop checking the script.
When it's over, I felt better because judges were very kind.
After the private judging, we had free time till the show starts.
Many friends of mine came and greet me. They cheered me up and made me relax.
The show started. While we were waiting for our turn judge had already started.
Wow. I sat up straight and act like a model...lol
I was the last contestant. 7th.
"Our last contestant, Ms. Cherry Blossom!!!" (For teens contestants, we choose our favorite flower for our name)
My heart went pumping and pumping. To be honest, my heart was about to come out lol
When I was about to reach the stage, I saw my mom from Japan and Rupeni smiling, waving and cheering me up. It made me goes like "I will do it. It's my stage".
Introduction.
My legs and hands were shaking.
But I was able to finish my turn.
Next was Talent.
While I was changing my cloths to traditional fijian cloths all my Japanese friends came and cheer me up.
Actually I was sure I can do my best for talent so I wasn't really nervous for this part.

The stage started. Michael introduced this meke then the song played.
When I was on the stage I felt it wasn't me. Another me came out and dancing lol
I was dancing like cheeky one, everyone said. Lol
Woooow. It was amazing:))
Last part. Q&A
This part was worst thing for me. My legs and arms were shaking like I've never shake like that before!!!!
It started from Michael's ice breaking.
When I picked the question paper, I was screaming in my heart. "OMG"
I still didn't know what is the question but I went like OMG OMG OMG...lol
My question was about "teenagers aren't following their parents. What will you advise"
Wowowow.
I couldn't answer nicely but I didn't regret:(
Crowning....
I was chosen "Miss talent" and "1st - runner up"!!!!!!!
When Michael called out my name, I was sooooooo happy and stood up(jumped up...lol) from the seat:))
Yeahhhhhhhhhh. The stage was awesome and it was the best night EVA!!!!!
My stage was successful because you all helped me and supported me a lot.
I really appreciate.
