invictus 光と影

Out of the night that cover me,

私を覆う漆黒の夜

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,

鉄格子にひそむ奈落の闇

I thank whatever gods may be

私は　あらゆる神に感謝する

For my unconquerable soul.

我が魂が決して征服されぬことを

In the fell clutch of cricumstance

Invictusはラテン語、英語で"unconquered"、「征服されざる者」という意味。

約30年間におよぶ投獄生活のネルソン・マンデラを勇気づけた詩。

ucacoへのアンサーブログとして書きとめるために調べて行くうちに

知ったTimothy Mcveigh の存在。。

マンデラとティモシーに光と影を見た気がした。

でも悲嘆より希望をとるよ。

希望を持ち続けたい。
