Never does it cease to amaze me how hard it is to get up on a Saturday morning... after managing to do that this morning - made it in time for a random course held for St John Ambulance members.
It was a courtesy course for us in this organisation as usually the course in Emergency Management is held for those in the emergency services profession, i.e., police, fire service, paramedics.
Despite being a little dry it was quite interesting in that we could see where we fit in as a volunteer first aid organisation as well as providing insight into how much planning goes into the management of impending disasters - from natural disasters to wars and space debris falling to earth...!
