ビリー・ジョエルが好きだ
音楽を語る時、やっぱりレジェンドやマニアックなミュージシャンのことに
詳しいとカッコエエですよね。
ビートルズとかストーンズとか超メジャーなアーチストなら
それはそれでＯＫ。
カーペンターズとかにしても、
すべての人の心に染みるジャンルとして
誰しもを黙らせる力があったりします。
というよーなことをバクっと鑑みたうえで
声高に「ワシこれが好きですねん」というには
微妙にはばかれる代表が、ビリー・ジョエルあたりでは
ないでしょうか。
ビリー・ジョエル熱烈愛好家の皆様、
まったく悪意はございません、スミマセン。
そーいえばまわりで「ビリー・ジョエル」ファンを公言する人に
出会った記憶がありません。
酒場でビリー・ジョエルについて熱く語る人に
出会ったことがありません。
ビリー・ジョエルＢＡＲとか聞いたことありません。
ビリー・ジョエル
1949年生まれですから、今年もう64ですか。
ポールサイモンやマッカートニー、ミックジャガーらと
そない年が離れてるわけではないのに、
やはり全盛期の関係で80年代の人て感じがします。
80年代といえばほれ、例のあれです。ＭＴＶ時代です。
だからデュラン・デュランとかカルチャー・クラブとか
ブライアン・アダムスとかトンプソンツインズとか
ティアーズフォーフィアーズとか、もっといえばアーハとか
なんかそのあたりの妙にふわふわしたくくりの中に
含まれているような存在感でしょうか。
いやいや専門的には決してそうではないのでしょうぞ。
まぁそういうことはともかく、
ビリー・ジョエルが好きです。

「アレンタウン」・・・・・・・
最近の彼のことはついぞ知りませんが、
つまりは80年代へのタイムマシーンなんだな。
