Shadowrun Returns takes place in a world where magic and science fiction co-exist. It's world wherein humans live alongside orcs, elves and an assortment of fantasy-based creatures. And for a premise that seems way too outlandish for its own good, it actually does a fantastic job of being believable. You are a shadowrunner, a gun for hire, called upon to perform the most illegal of activities for corporations or individuals with deep pockets. You've fallen onto hard times and work is hard to'e by.That is, until you chance upon a message from an old acquaintance who is dead and wants you to find who killed him, with a magnanimous pay-off in the offing of course. This sets up a string of events and even a conspiracy or twelve. It's a well woven tale that will keep you hooked till the end. Along the way you'll indulge in turn-based'bat quite similar to games like.
