2025-8-18 Day 2
Since he had a class, I spent most of the day alone in the CBD.
We woke up around 08:30 and had a Persian-style breakfast: bread, nuts, and cottage cheese.
After that, we went to the shore. Dogs were running around on the beach, and I thought how nice it would be to be like them—carefree and away from stress. They looked so happy!
Right after that, we went to Pak’nSave (a supermarket) just to look around. I picked up some tamarillos and a roasted beef sandwich there.
I got off the car in the CBD and started exploring on my own.

I took the Wellington Cable Car, which has a 123-year history. The ride took just 5 minutes from downtown to the top. The tunnel was decorated with LED lights to keep passengers entertained.
The cars had been replaced a few years ago, so they looked new to me.
Local people also use it as ordinary public transportation.
I also visited the Cable Car Museum next to the mountain-top station. Some old cars and the winding machine were on display there.

Site 2: Te Papa National Museum
The museum was divided into three sections:
1. Nature
2. European/Colonial history
3. Māori history
The most interesting part for me was the Māori history.
The Māori people settled this island about 800 years ago, coming from southern islands. They built wooden houses and lived there. In the south of New Zealand, there are hot springs, and Māori people enjoyed bathing in them.
I also found that some Māori words are similar to Hawaiian.
I learned that the Māori used to live in harmony with nature, carefully preserving it.

Site 3: Wild Finder
The starry sky there was simply beautiful.
This place has become one of the secret spots in my life.
