Dyslexia is a type of learning difference (read: DIFFERENCE and not disability) where the person has difficulty reading, writing, speaking and comprehending written passages and articulating their thoughts. Some also have poor co-ordination skills and working memory.
Some famous dyslexics:
Tom Cruise.
Dr. Carol W. Greider. One of the winners of the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 2009 for the discovery of telomerase, the key to the ageing process.
Albert Einstein! One of the greatest scientists of all times.
So Dr. Carol W. Greider and Albert Einstein are/were dyslexics!
In a way, I can empathise with them as I'm a slow learner who always has to spend double the effort and time in order to keep up to par with my peers.
I'm inspired once again.
Whatever mao said about not being able to learn from people outside of school, I'll have to disagree with him. As a matter of fact, I've been learning from everyone and everything around me. From tangible ones like skills and knowledge, and most of all, to intangible ones like values, being source of courage...infinitely. He himself has been a huge role model to me, in fact.
Gotta strive. :)
