我的梦想,

并不是攀上事业阶梯的最高层,

不是拥有荣华富贵,

不是成为武术冠军,

也不是环游世界,征服世界最高峰,

而是不断地挑战自我,突破极限,

尽能力用这双手造福人群。

Yesterday I worked with Rota 1, under Rozi, who had an entirely different attitude. The vibes I get from the job is really varies with the team leader you get. Phuay Ling and Ben (today) is quite enthusiastic about the job and more willing to teach, while Rozi is kind of laid-back. Honestly, I couldn't help but lose a little bit of respect for the occupation and the motivation to strive for it on seeing the indifferent attitude Rozi gives to her job. Don't be mistaken, she wasn't unprofessional, but just apathetic. I don't blame her, everyone gets jaded after some time. All the novelty of life-saving wears off with all the nonsense you get in Singapore. I guess all the crap they get from the management does cause substantial wear and tear to your zeal for the job as well, like any other place.

Ah, I find the way Ben talks to his patient (and people in general actually) quite charismatic though. xD. His no-nonsense-but-still-polite demeanour in handling ambulance service abusers commanded some of my respect for him. PL has a way of joking with patients to ease their anxiety and how thorough she is with every case was a role example for me and her numerous trainees I bet.

Oh well, I still love the fact that the job isn't mundane, you get a lot of
free time in between calls, random off days, easy-going team mates, hmm and
I dunno, things are just cool. Maybe I'm only getting a taste of the fun
side without doing much of the actual work, the paperwork and dealing with
the patients and stuff. ><

We were lucky that Tanjim was so willing to teach us some practical work just in the afternoon on my request. He even became the guinea pig for the IV demonstration( on his suggestion of course!). I can't express how much gratitude I have towards him for all he had done.

I'm extending my hours from 10 to a 12-hour shift right now simply because I love this place. :) www

That's the code for our alpha.
I was really lucky to have gotten a good mentor and senior and also being posted to a warm and cosy station on my first day of attachment.

Oh and boy was it a day of resemblance.

PL my mentor reminded me of Soo Wah a lot! Both her physique and character. Turned out that she was BN's training mate and thay've known each other for 13 years. Haha. She takes really good care of me by being very keen to teach and had even encouraged us to ask. On one call for a pneumonia patient, she had even go all the way to suggest that i bring down the stethescope before we arrived at the hospital with the intention of showing me the 'crackling'sound/symptom in pneumonia. In that same case, she stood up for me when I was chased out by a mean ER doctor because I didn't possess any identification pass. I was both surprised and touched. Thank you PL!

*Cough*the other guy on attachment reminded me of Justin*cough* kyaa. Apparently he's a SAF medic specialist trainee, trained for surgery and goes on those relief rescue trips. Uber cool~ unfortunately it will be his last day for the week here today which means I won't get to see him again for my stay DD: Oh well, at least I get to work with him today as a 5-man team :D

Alright, shall put in my best again today! Gotta be more proactive.
