Christmas party

Yesterday we had our surgical team xmas party. The hotel where the meal was held has a really beautiful dinning room and the Christmas tree was huge! The food was really tasty too. It was a really fun party and got me in a Christmas mood 🎄🌠

Today I went into town to do some Christmas shopping. The Christmas market has opened by City Hall and all the decorations are up. It looks so pretty. The shops were really crowded and busy though. 

When I got home I felt in an uber xmassy mood so I ended up putting my xmas tree up in my flat even though it only the start of December so it's too early really...oops. 

To complete the xmas mood I ended up watching Die Hard (my favourite xmas movie) and drinking mulled wine (I didn't have any mince pies though 😭)

Package

Today a package arrived with a dress I ordered. 

Yay! 

It's from British Retro who are a London brand that make some lovely vintage-inspired designs. I got one in Black Watch tartan and it's really comfortable to wear and soft. I was worried it would be too long on me cos I'm quite short so often dresses come much too long on me but actually, the length is good. 

They also have the same dress in royal Stewart tartan and now I'm tempted to get that too...

Must...resist...temptation...

New recipe

Last weekend they posted some cool recipes using butternut squash by Yotam Ottolenghi on the Guardian webpage. I couldn't resist trying it out...
