VR may help teachers to survive school shooting.
When school shooting incurred at Columbine High School in 1999, shooting video games were harshly criticized. Ironically, however, today people learn how to survive from school shooting by Virtual Reality simulations.
A US company, Enhanced Dynamic Geo-Social Environment (EDGE) developed VR program to train teachers and police officers how to response to shooting in schools, which wouldn’t happen in normal life. In the game, you can choose role from teacher, officer and shooter (!). By knowing shooter’s viewpoint, trainers can approach to find what to do apart from just being panic.
It is good program to call people’s mind the worst thing happen in school but sadly the VR program cannot be final solution of the case.
