King of Land episode 2

Miyazawa set his hand to an undertaking of developing new type of running shoes based on applied Tabi making technique. It soon turned out, though, the sole part of his trial products didn’t meet the durability of long distance running.

It reminded him to adopt the special material “Silklay”, which seemed to be an ideal material for thin and elastic sole. The only thing to use it was to get the license of the material from the patentee Iiyama who was previously president of his company but was bankrupted two years ago. When Miyazawa met him with Sakamoto, Iiyama asked wildly to Miyazawa to pay 50 million yen per year for the license.

In the meantime, Mogi, who hurt his leg during the last race, pushes himself hard running practice in a reckless manner, which cannot make him better or faster. Seeing his condition, Atlantic co ltd, the shoe maker giant, decided to abandon the hopeless runner and told of the end of support contract. Mogi realized that the only way to survive as runner, was to master the mid foot running which can be learned with thin shoes and tried to put on the trial product from Kohazeya at last.
