Giuseppe Archimboldo, Italian painter who served for three generations of Habsburg Emperors as court portraitist and art director of court events. His two series of masterpieces, “Four Seasons” and “Four Elements”, are now displayed in his exhibition at The National Museum of Western Art.
One might be puzzled with bizarre, complex and delicate approach of his work, but will be surprised if he/she finds his scientific eyes, philosophical point view and international relations of those days were skillfully layered with ultimate technique.
