Today, I joined a community of mixi, Bushi-no-Kakei(武士の家系). It is the community for the people who were born in the lineage of Japanese swordsman.
I am also supposed to be a descendant of one of the old lineages according to my surname, birth place and other few evidences.
On the other hand, there is a gap to be not possibly ignored between me and real swordsmen who lived around eight centuries ago.
They had triumph at early Kamakura-era but were ruined later in a political strife and had gone from main stream of Japanese history.
Since then, it seems no record of family tree over several generations and that makes difficult to restore whole image of the lineage.
I wish I can get more clues of my lineage through exchange of information with the community members.
