Just a day after it was released in the US the UK got Fujitsu's Stylistic M532 tablet meaning that whatever side of the Atlantic you hail from you now have another high-end slate to tempt you. More than just offering some decent specs though the M532 comes in a ruggedised form-factor, something which you see smartphones often boasting about but not so much slates.
Its key features include a 10.1" IPS LCD display with a 1280x800 resolution, a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM. Internal storage weighs in at 32GB with a microSD slot for expansion and it also features a rear-facing 8mp camera as well as a front-facing 2mp one. Its 3170mAh battery like Fujitsu FPCBP80 Battery , Fujitsu FPCBP77 Battery , Fujitsu FPCBP68 Battery , Fujitsu FPCBP63 Battery , Fujitsu FPCBP95 Battery , Fujitsu FPCBP36 Battery , Fujitsu LifeBook B2566 Battery , Fujitsu LifeBook B2620 Battery , Fujitsu FPCBP37 Battery , Fujitsu LifeBook B2175 Battery should last for about eight and a half hours while watching video and it ships with Android 4.0 installed. The slate is pretty skinny too at 8.9mm and weighs just 558g.
For those who plan on showing their tablet a tough time the M532 offers MIL-STD-810G certification meaning it's dust resistant, drop proof and can withstand extremes of temperature and altitude. However it doesn't promise to be water resistant so it will still be worth handling it with a little caution.
Anyone who wants on in the US can pick one up from Fujitsu's website for $549.99. Meanwhile in the UK it's being sold for around the £500 mark. This means it's £50 cheaper than the equivalently spec'd Samsung alternative, another incentive for those having a hard time deciding between tablets.
All in all it's not a bad package from Fujitsu and its rugged factor may well earn itself a few fans. Not only this but in addition to being competitive with its Galaxy Tab rivals it's also the most affordable tablet that the company offers at the moment.
