Web2.0, Social search... it's just a technology or a method name.
Over 15 years ago, there was a few technical information of personal computer. I joined BBS and download contents/threads. Grep was a tool for searching to find the solution for my problem.
Several weeks later, I had courage to ask people who joined BBS about my problem. Sometimes other people gave the best solution and sometimes said "Stupid! Study hard!" however through these experiences, I learned how to associate with community and members.
Currently BBS has been replaced by Internet Forums. Also Google search is ABSOLUTELY more useful tool than "grep" in local disk in order to find the solution across all forums/sites exist in the internet. The matter makes borderless searching however at the same time we can not feel a sense of belonging to community.
I believe new technology will make us happy. If Web 2.0 makes us feel a sense of participation to community, social sharing of the knowledge will be brought up. (I don't want to say "social search" because there are two sides; asking people and answering people. Definitely the answering people are not "search engine".) Always "Human" is at the center of community/social something even though any technology comes up there.
まぁ、過去のKMの失敗を忘れて、Web2.0という技術だけでバラ色みたいなことは難しいんじゃないかな。その中心には必ず生身の人がいるのだから。それに関するディスカッションが記事にないのが残念。
