It's terribly cliche to say that one can do anything but not everything. However,
cliche or not, it's the truth. Ever since I was young, I have always wanted to do things
a certain way - MY WAY - until I realised when I was old enough to think rationally,
that it's impossible.
"My Way" is nothing but a stubborn streak that doesn't always work.
A hit-and-miss.
A random lucky throw.
The need to compromise with the world is necessary to reach one's goals,
I learned belatedly. Fortunately, I have a God and wonderful people around
to help me through everything and succeed.
So, thank you.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Now, onto a more fun thing.
I have slaved over cleaning one of the floor-to-ceiling closets on the first floor.
I have to say that it was one of the most daunting tasks ever since I needed to deal
with things I don't own. My parents have this funny habit of buying things
and forgetting them, and they all end up in the closets. Thank Heavens we have
more than one (and they're still not enough) storage space.
The fun part is in the middle, when you unearth things that bring back memories.
For example, I found my mum's wedding dress and her maternity dress sitting
in a box underneath... everything. Haha. We talked about it, and the Parentals reminisced
and teased each other. Until now, I still have no idea which version of their
getting-to-know-you stories are true. I have lovey-dovey parents, and being an only child
makes me feel like a third wheel sometimes, but I have to say, I'm a very happy third wheel
when it comes to those two. Haha.
So needless to say, it was a lot of fun. Exhausting, yes, but a lot of fun. By the way,
I started yesterday but I just finished late this afternoon. Just the first closet.
One down, four to go. I can't wait to see what gems I'd be able to discover in the other
ones. Maybe a long-lost book? A (love) letter? Old pictures of memorable people?
It's so exciting! ♥

I was roped into helping clear out the small room under the staircase earlier. It took more than five hours just to arrange everything and now it's totally decent and uncluttered. I have amazing decluttering skills. I wonder why I can't use it on my work and study desks. Haha. ★
There was a lot of nostalgia involved. A lot of reminiscing happened as well, as item after item dating back from before I was born to the most recent were taken out and sorted. Hetalia's America probably felt the same way while he was cleaning out his closet full of memories. It was sad letting go of the old stuff to make way for the new ones, but i was glad that I was able to reminisce. It means I hold a lot of events, people and things dear. ★
I'm not as cold as I thought I was.
Unearthing old books and notebooks as well as little things like an orange micro floppy disk from my high school years made me smile. It was inscribed with my name and my class section too. Hahaha. ★

And then there was this old portable manual typewriter. Too bad it's not in working order anymore. A friend on Twitter showed me one from her workplace. A different style and brand, older and non-portable. She said that one is still being used. In the office. Seriously, how amazing is that! Hahaha! ★

My dad is actually going to look for a ribbon for this and will make it work again. His goal is to finish tinkering with it before the week ends, and then buy a new ribbon - if it still exists. Go dad, go! Fighto! ★
At the moment, I'm tired and everything. The power went out earlier and it was hell, literally. We're in the middle of summer, so even though it was a freak thunderstorm that caused the electricity to fizzle, it only cooled a bit before the heat started crawling back. I'm glad it's fixed now. On hindsight, I should have recorded the collective jubilant cries in the neighbourhood when the power went back on. It was glorious. Hahaha! ★
Off to rest. No research for me tonight, sorry mum. I'll continue tomorrow. ★

For the past couple of weeks, I've been doing a lot of thinking and searching and reconnecting. I feel better about things and I feel more complete. Not quite there yet, but almost. Maybe missing a few screws here and there but functioning better.
There's Omi, whom I've had an argument with because of local politics. We kind of drifted apart. I caught up with her and exchanged notes in Deviantart and we've now progressed to conversing through sms. Soon, I'm hoping we would be able to meet again and catch up.
Yesterday, I met with Nina and we did just that - catch up. It has been years since we last met - and when I say years, I mean YEARS. I had a lot of bloopers but the day was awesome and we both agreed we should do it again. Without the flops of course.
Nina and I Skyped Aggy-pon while walking around and while eating gelato. It was fun and glorious. I was feeling a bit of the alky from lunch so I wasn't able to talk much and ended up giggling all the way. I told Aggy-pon about it before bed last night (morning on her end since she's living across the ocean, in San Francisco at the moment). She said it was probably because I lost some weight and haven't had any alcohol for months now which was why I felt the effects almost immediately, even if I just consumed very little (by my usual standards). Hahaha! ★
I plan on meeting Len next week. I left her a token in Skype but I think she hasn't watched the video message yet. We haven't seen each other for a few months and we need to meet for fandom gabfest. Twitter Fangirling is never enough. Hahaha!
At the moment, I'm listening to a bunch of cds. I should be sleeping but I made a mistake of listening to old Unheilig and Savage Garden and now I'm singing along to my favourite Savage Garden song "Affirmation". It's perfect for my current mood. ★
Oh, and before this, I was listening to a cd featuring Hirakawa Daisuke-san and I have to say my soul just feels so full and complete. I made a doodle of how I felt while listening, like I usually do when something affects me greatly.

I am absolutely grateful for it. :)
That's all for now. I'm off to bed now, for reals. Good night!
