今日は先日行ってきたチェンチャマーケットを写真で紹介です。

私たちの滞在しているアーバミンチからは40キロほど。車だと1時間ちょっとです。

たまたま会った観光ガイドのマサイにツアーしてもらいました。(大丈夫怪しくないよ～笑）

私たちはなぜか手違いで、バジャージというサイドがオープンカーの三輪カーにて向かいました。

舗装されていない道がかなり続くので揺れをもろに受けます。マサイ曰くローカルマッサージ。。。笑　

途中ドーゼ村にも寄っていますが、それはまた別の投稿にて！

I will show Chencha Saturday Market with photos!

Chencha Village is located north west of Arba Minch. 1 hour and more by car.

Masaay who I have met by chance in the town the other day was our tour guide!

We used Bajaje which is three wheels car with side open by some mistake....

We went on unpaved road most of time and got vibration all the time... Massay says 'local Massage!'

We actually stopped by Dorze on the way but will show you sometime later :)

おしゃれなお姉ちゃんたち。包んでいるのはバター。食べられるし、女性は髪につけるのだとか。ちょっとにおいが気になりそうだけど。。

包装はフェルスバナナというバナナの生らないバナナそっくりな木から取れる葉。葉肉も繊維も皮もすべていろいろなもの使われているよ。皮は包装紙として葉肉は食用、そして繊維はロープを作るのに適してる。

Stylish ladies‼ They are wrapping some butter. The butter will be used not only as food but hair cream for ladies. The wrapping material is a leaf of false banana tree. The tree literally doesn't bear fruit. All the materials taken from the tree are used for many things like leaf as wrapping material, its mesopyll for food and fiber for making lopes.

バター屋さんのエリア。上の女の子たちが包んでいるバターはこんな大きい量で売られている。

The area of butter venders. The butter that ladies are wrapping is sold like that big size!

マサイが、ちょっとちゃんとここのバター見えてるとこ撮りなよって、バターの包みの穴を見せるから、撮ったよ！笑

Massay insisted me 'hey, take photo of this part!! ' pointing the hole to prove this is butter!

会場はといえば、こんな感じ。見渡す限りすごい人。彼女らはチェンチャからの住民だけでなく、10キロ以上離れた別の村からも売り物を背負って歩いてきたりする！トラックも輸送を手伝うけど、ちっちゃなおばあちゃんが大きな荷物背負って長距離歩いているのを見るとほんとびっくりする。

This is bigger image of the venue. So many venders!! They are not only the villagers but also from other villages like more than 10k away! Those ladies carry the commodities on their back walking such long distance. There are some tracks helping them tho, I was really amazed and impressed when I saw those tiny elderly ladies doing that....

マーケットをよく観察すると、ちゃんと商品によって売り場がまとまっている。ここは豆とか穀物系。おばあちゃんたちおしゃべりしてまるでピクニックしてるみたい。マサイが、商品を手に取って私たちに説明してると、あるおばちゃんが　「ちょぉぉっとあんた、触ってるんだから買って行きなさいよぉ」っぽいことを言っているのがわかる笑　マサイに、きっとそう言ってるんでしょ～って言ったら苦笑いしてた笑

結構勝手に食べたり私たちに試食させたりもしてたしね～！がはは

The market is actually organized. There are separated sections for each product. Here is for beans and grains. Those ladies are chatting each other and looked like doing picnic! There was a lady telling Massay 'Heeey you are touching my product like that, how about buying some!!?' when he took her grain on his hand showing and explaining us.... I never understand their language tho I could get it....! Asked Masaay if my guess was correct, he made a wry smile. haha He even ate some beans and grains and gave us samples! ahaha

このあたりから、子供たちのパレードが私たちの背後に。進めば進むほど増えるパレード人口。まだ序の口。そして、何人かはマニーマニーとお金をせびってくるぞ。中には子供だましのようなジュースをボトルからカップに次いで無理やり渡してくる女の子も(受け取ったが最後お金とられるよ）。ちょっと、ツアーに集中させて～！

A parade of kids appeared behind us around this time.... It became bigger and bigger as we went on. This photo shows only the beginning tho. Some kids were persistent asking 'money money'...... This girl even poured something like colored drink in a cup and tried to hand me over (I will be ended up by paying if I receive it! ) Please let us concentrate the tour!!!!

いつの間にか子だくさんのツレ。

My partner got some kids while I didn't realize....

男の子の背後はさっきのニセバナナの葉からとった繊維で作ったロープを売っているお店。この子は私がロープの写真を撮ろうとするたびに手をあげて邪魔するので、撮ってあげた。なのに目線外してる～笑

Some venders selling ropes made from the fiber of false banana tree behind this boy. He tried to block my shooting of the venders by his raising his hands. So I took him but...where is he looking!!??

ここはたばこのコーナー。煙もくもく。

This is the section for cigarette. smoky.

こんな風に仲間で集まって竹(?)の筒で坪の中のたばこを吸う。手前にある塊がたばこの材料。たしか発酵してるとかだったな。臭かった。おばちゃんに吸ってみるかと勧められたけど、あまりのにおいのきつさにお断りしたわ。

Some people get together and enjoy smoking with the bamboo(?) pipe and the pot. The black chunk is the ingredients. I believe it's fermented. Too strong smell for me. The lady in the front suggested me to try but I refused because of the strong smell...!

これは素焼きのコーヒーセレモニー用のポット。この中にコーヒーの粉を入れて煮るのに使うよ。

Those are pot for coffee ceremony. Putting coffee powder and boil with hot water in it.

住宅用の藁。土を混ぜて壁にするんだって。町ではモダンな素材の家も増えているけど、小さな村のお家ではたくさん見かけた。

Straw for housing. Mixing with soil and make walls. Houses with modern materials are getting more common in the cities but you still can see this type of walls in small villages.

この写真！！見えるかな。。ど真ん中にいる小さな小さな女の子。この子は背中に赤ちゃんを背負ってて、他の子どもたち同様私たちの後ろにずっとついて来てて。すっごくかわいくて、何もしゃべらず、でも気になって私たちの後をずっとついてきた。そして、私たちが帰るときもずっと振り返ってこっち見てる。笑いかけるとはにかむのがかわいくて連れて帰りたいくらいかわいかった。あからさまに写真を撮るのは気がひけて遠目からこっそりストーカーな私。メロメロ。

This photo ....!! Wonder if you can see the little girl in the middle of the photo. She is carrying a baby on her back. So tiny. She was following us together with other kids. She is so pretty, but no talking (no Money! Money! of course). I smiled her sometimes and she was smiled to me too but very shy. I felt bad about taking photo of her obviously so from a distance like this.. I am such a stoker!!! I was melting....! aww

せっかくなのでチェンチャの街並みも。ツレの後姿を添えて。。。

おまけ～！ツレはなんだかいつも男にモテる。黄色いシャツの彼は酔っぱらって超ハッピー。ツレに腕くんだりしてべたべた。二人仲良く歩いてるのでせっかくなので投稿！笑

It’s an extra photo from the tour!　Somehow my partner is popular among men....This guy in his yellow shirt is kinda drunk and very happy! Talked to my partner, took his hand and walk together like this....!
