Noto Peninsula is extending into the Sea of Japan in the middle of Japan.
There are a couple of scenic spots with eroded cliffs are located along the west coast of Noto Peninsula. This area is named Noto-Kongo.

"Ganmon" & "Takanosu Rock"

Approximately in the middle on the west coast of Noto Peninsula, "Ganmon" and "Takanosu" Rock are located.
They are located at the south end of Noto Kongo.

You will see a candle shaped rock and shore reefs. The candle-shaped rock is named "Takanosu" Rock.

You can go down to the beach and you will see the gate-like rock on the beach, named Ganmon" Rock.
You can walk through the tunnel of the rock.

"Senjyojiki" Seashore

After passing through the tunnel of "Ganmon" Rock, you will see that the sea here forms a shoal is widely spread on a wide plane stone.

This scenic spot is named "Senjyojiki" Seashore. Sightseeing ships are available at "Senjyojiki" Seashore to see spectacular scenery of "Ganmon" & "Takanosu Rock".

"Hatagoiwa" Rocks

To 3.5 kilometers north from "Ganmon" and "Takanosu" Rocks, "Hatagoiwa" Rocks are located.

The gate-like rock and another rock are located and these rocks are connected with "Shimenawa", straw festoon.
Connecting straw festoon means these rocks are considered as objects of worship.

"Yase" Cliff

Next scenic spot is "Yase" Cliff, located to the fifteen kilometers north of "Hatagoiwa" Rocks. On the way to "Yase" Cliff, "Osasanami-Suiden" is located. "Osasanami-Suiden" is a terraced rice field, selected as one of best hundreds of terraced rice fields in Japan.

To approximately one kilometer north from "Osasanami-Suiden", "Yase" Cliff is located.
There is an observation deck on "Yase" Cliff.

The observation deck is named after Masahito, Prince Hitachi (1935 -), who is a son of Emperor SHOWA (1901 - 1989) and a younger brother of the former Emperor AKIHITO (1933 -). Masahito, Prince Hitachi visited Ishikawa Prefecture in 1966.

To the south of the observation deck, you will see a very narrow inlet of the sea.
There is a legend regarding the inlet of the sea.
The legend says that MINAMOTO-NO Yoshitsune (1159 - 1189), who was a younger brother of MINAMOTO-NO Yoritomo (1147 - 1199) hid forty-eight ships into the inlet.

"Kotogahama" Beach

Approximately 3.5 kilometers further north east from "Yase" Cliff and 18 kilometers north from "Ganmon" & "Takanosu Rock", "Kotogahama" Beach is located.

"Koto" in Japanese means a Japanese harp instrument. Sands on "Kotogahama" Beach contains large amounts of crystals (crystal concentration is 65%) and it was very clean without impurities in the past.
If you walked on the beach, you could hear the sound of the beach. This phenomenon is very sensitive to the impurities.
If the impurities increase more than 0.1 %, you can not hear the sound of the beach.
Unfortunately, as the impurities of "Kotogahama" Beach increased, no one can hear the sound any more.

There is a rock on "Kotogahama" Beach.
You will see spiral shape of an outcrop of a stratum on the rock. It is very impressive.
