The main town of Kurashiki is located to the north of the Kurashiki "Bikan" Historical Quarter, where rice warehouses to store annual rice tax were located along a moat.
After visiting Kurashiki Ivy Square, I went to Kurashiki Honmachi Area through a small street to the west side of Kurashiki Ivy Square.
Historical warehouse style buildings are located on the both side of the street.
If you go to the north then take a left at T-Junction, you will find INOUE Residence.
INOUE Residence was built in the early eighteenth century and used to be a merchant's family.
This house is the oldest building in Kurashiki Historical District and is designated as an important property of Japan.
If you go to east from INOUE Residence, you will find also many Historical warehouse style buildings along the street.
There was no sightseer in this area, but Honmachi Area is designated as a conservation district of traditional buildings.
In Kurashiki Historical District, you will see very narrow alleys between buildings.
This kind of ally is called "Hiyasai" in Kurashiki. This alley seems an entrance of time travelig machine, which takes you to the Edo Age (1603 - 1868) .
