Kenchoji Temple was founded in 1253 by HOJYO Tokiyori (1227 - 1263) , the fifth regent of the "Kamakura
Bakufu" in the Kamakura Age (1185 - 1333). Kenchoji Temple was nominated as the most important temple
among five important temples in Kamakura.

After passing through the "Somon" Gate, you will walk on the well-maintained approach to the "Sanmon" Gate.
