Koishikawa Korakuen Garden was built in 1629 by TOKUGAWA Mitsukuni (1628 - 1701) , who was the second
federal lord of Mito Domain. The location of Koishikawa Korakuen Garden is just west of Tokyo Dome, between
Suidobashi and Iidabashi Stations. In this location, the mansion of Mito Domain was located during the Edo Age (1603 - 1868) .

After passing through the garden gate, you will see wide open scenery in front of you. Also, you will recognize very calm atmosphere and you can't believe that you are in downtown Tokyo.

Visitors can walk around the pond and enjoy the beautiful garden scenery. This is the typical style for a garden of a federal lord in the Edo Age and called a "Daimyo-Teien" Garden in Japanese.

The Koishigawa Korakuen Garden is designated as both a Special Historical Site and a Special Places of
Scenic Beauty of Japan.
