The historical district remains in downtown Kuroishi.
Covered alleys, named "Komise", remain along a main street of Kuroishi.
Kuroishi is located to the north-east of Hirosaki City in Aomori Prefecture.
TSUGARU Nobufusa initiated the Kurosaki Domain in 1656.
TAKAHASHI Residence in the covered alleys is designated as an important cultural property of
Japan. And, this area is designated as the important preservation district of historical buildings.
In winter, downtown of Kuroishi was almost empty and no one was there.
To the south of "Komise", the government headquarters of Kuroishi Domain, "Kuroishi Jinya",
was located. The Kuroishi community center is located at the site.
The stone monument of the government headquarters of Kuroishi is located at the Miyuki park.
