Japan Railways companies (JR) were formerly Japan National Railways, owned by the government.
They were divided into seven major railway companies and privatized in 1987.
Six companies are railway companies which run passenger trains and the other company is for freight trains.
Six JR companies are "JR Hokkaido", "JR East", "JR Central", "JR West", "JR Shikoku" and "JR Kyushu".
JR Hokkaido, "Soya" and "Super Hokuto"
The major railways system in Japan is consisted by Japan Railways (JR) lines.
Unfortunately, making seat reservations of JR trains on internet is bit complicated, especially in English.
I would like to help and serve people from different countries to take trains in Japan.

今回は、JRについてのページです。
JRの6つの旅客会社や特急、快速列車や首都圏や地方の普通列車の紹介、
そして、切符の買い方や列車の乗り方について紹介しています。
日本にいると何気なく、改札を抜けてホームに向かっているのですが、
世界的には、改札のある国というのは珍しい部類に入ると思います。
またJRの指定券をネットで予約入れるのは、限られた手段しかなく
ましてや日本語が使えない環境では、きわめて難しい状況です。
