「春が近づいている高野山」と
角塔婆
新しい景色
ブログに書いて以来
Since I wrote that spring was
just around corner in my
last blog,
毎日荷物を抱えて
階段の上り下りをし、
I’ve been moving my stuff
from down stairs to up stairs,
and
合間に
高野山診療所と
和歌山県立医科大附属病院
紀北分院に通っていましたら
I’ve been also seeing doctors
in Koyasan clinic as well as
Kihoku Hospital.
日曜日は嵐のような大雨が
降り続き
Then, it rained so hard
like a storm last Sunday.
そして
一昨日の月曜日は
みぞれから雪になり
it became snow on Monday
and
昨日の朝の気温は
再び氷点下2度でした
The temperature yesterday
morning went down to 28°F.
雪がほんのり残る燈籠堂
Torodo was slightly
covered with snow.
壇上伽藍では
大会堂で真言を
唱えていましたら
While chanting at Dai-e-do,
なにやら大きな音が
響き出しました
I heard something loud.
屋根に積もった雪が凍り、
朝日に照らされ溶け出し、
落下し始めました
The snow frozen over the night
started melting and falling
from the roof.
屋根に積もる雪も
見納めかな...
と思いつつ
I first wondered if this is
the last snow of this season,
then I just remembered
3年前の4月8日に
雪が降っていたことを
思い出し
it snowed on April 8th
three years ago.
ダウンのコートは
まだクリーニングに
出せません
I guess I shouldn’t
send my winter coat
to the cleaner yet.
四天王の上にも
雪が残っていました
The snow was also
on the top of the Big Four
角塔婆
kaku-to-ba
この角塔婆には
空海の『即身成仏義』が
書かれています
Kukai’s treatise is written
on these kaku-to-ba.
六大無碍にして常に瑜伽なり
四種曼荼各々離れず
三密加持すれば失速に顕る
重々帝網のごとくなるを即身と名づく
The Six Great Elements are interfused
and in a state of eternal harmony.
The Four Mandalas are inseparably
related to one another.
When the grace of the Three Mysteries
is retained, our inborn three mysteries
will quickly be manifested.
Infinitely interrelated like the meshes of
Indra’s net are what we call existences.
法然に薩般若を具足し
心数心王刹塵に過ぎたり
各々五智無際智を具す
円鏡力の故に実覚智なり
There is the One who is naturally
equipped with all-embracing wisdom
More numerous than particles of
sand are those who have the King of
Mind and consciousnesses
Each of them is endowed with
the Fivefold Wisdom
All beings can truly attain enlightenment
because of the force of mirrorlike wisdom
難しいですね
Isn’t it hard to understand?
空海は
According to Kukai
「成仏」とは
この私たちが生きている世界で
わが身において
「即身」に知ることだと
説いています
Buddhahood can be attained
in this bodily experience.
仏の知恵を求め
菩提心を極めようと
努力すれば
If you diligently pursue
the path to the buddhahood,
両親から生まれた
この身体において
速やかに悟りを得ることが
できると説いています
you can be quickly enlightened
in your bodily experience.
空海に近づきたい...と
高野山に移住し
一年が過ぎました
It’s been a year since
I moved to Koyasan.
空海を学べば学ぶほど
空海の哲学は甚深で
自分の未熟さを
思い知らされるばかりです
As I learned more about Kukai,
I’ve realized that I’m still too inept
to understand his philosophy.
コロナを言い訳に使い放題の
高野山1年目
I tended to use the Covid-19
as excuses for doing nothing.
新しい部屋で
新しい景色を眺めながら
心機一転
自分に活を入れ
新生活に臨みます。
I will refresh my life
as I see the beautiful scenery
from my new apartment.
合掌
