先週の金曜日は
(マスターが抱えているのは
マルタカファミリーのご好意で
かねてよりの念願、
立里荒神社をお詣りすることが
できました
I had a chance to visit
Tateriko Shrine with
the Marutaka family.
マスターのチェコ人の
奥さんDちゃんが運転、
私は助手席、
後部座席にマスターと
1歳になったばかりの
Rちゃんが乗り込みました
Mrs. D, the master’s wife
who is Czech, was a driver,
I was in the passenger seat,
the master and their 1year old
son were at the rear seat.
「さぁ出席！」
と車を走らせたその瞬間
Let’s go!
As soon as she started
the car
「えっ ちょっと待って」
と、マスター
Wait!
「なんか臭い」
Something smells bad
「あっ Rちゃんだ！」
Oh, it’s coming from
my baby!
「う●ちしちゃった」
He pooped!
車を元の場所に戻し
ギャン泣きする
Rちゃんのおしめ交換です
We returned to the place
where we were, and
the master changed
his crying baby’s diaper.
立里荒神社は
高野山から南へ17km
車で約30分の
奈良県吉野郡野迫川村に
あります
The shrine is located
about 11miles, 30 minutes
by car, from Koyasan.
It’s in Nara Prefecture.
Dちゃんがチェコから
日本へ移住し
初めて高野山で
車を運転した時は
怖くて泣いていた...
と聞いていましたが
I heard that Mrs. D used
to cry when I she first
moved here from Czech
and had to drive in Koyasan,
but
とばしまくります
Now she drives so fast
「Dちゃん、スローダウン、
速いよ」
とマスター
Slow down. You’re going
too fast
「遅いでしょう」
It IS slow, isn’t it?
「対向車来ないから
大丈夫よ」
Don’t worry.
There won’t be any cars
in the opposite direction.
車の中では
“ゴンベさんの赤ちゃんが
風邪ひいた”
“さっちゃん”
“おべんとうばこのうた”
など懐かしい歌が
流れていました
We were listening to
all kinds of children’s
songs in the car
それでも
Rちゃんがぐずりだすと
Dちゃんがチェコ語で
歌い出します
But, when the baby started
almost crying,
Mrs. D started singing
in Czech
するとRちゃん
ピタリと泣き止みました
Amazingly, the baby quickly
stopped crying
そうこうするうちに
入り口に到着しました
While the baby was
entertaining us,
we arrived at the entrance
of the shrine
Dちゃんは
10kgのRちゃんを抱いて
階段を上がり始めました
Mrs. D, holding the 22lb baby
started climbing up the stairs
(マスターが抱えているのは
Rちゃんの上着だけ)
He was holding just
a jacket
「俺が抱くって言ったのに
エキササイズしたいって
いうんだよ」
というマスターですが
I told her that I will carry
the baby, but she said
it is her exercise,
said the master.
5段くらい上ると
After the first 5 steps
or so
「あぁ、俺もうダメ...
あしがいたーい！」
Oh no, my legs are sore!
the master cried out
「もう？」
とあきれるDちゃん
Already?
Mrs. D was disgusted
だから最初から
DちゃんがRちゃんを
抱くと言ったのですね
Now I know why she
offered to carry the baby.
上に進むに連れ
As we kept going up
「ヤバっ
カレーがのどに
上がってきた！」
Oh boy,
the curry is coming up
to my throat
マスターは
私を振り返り
The master turned around
and said to me
「昼ごはんは
カレーだった」
My lunch was curry.
「やめてくださいよー」
Stop it!
泣いたり(マスター)
笑ったり(私)しているうちに
頂上に到着しました
While crying (master)and
laughing (me), we arrived
at the top.
816年弘法大師空海は
嵯峨天皇より高野山を
賜ったおり
In 816, when Kukai was
given Koyasan by
Emperor Saga,
伽藍建立に先立ち
山上の鬼門にあたる
この地で17日間荒神供を
修行し
he came here and had
religious trainings for
17days before starting to
build Garan.
伽藍繁栄と
密教守護を
祈誓しました
Kukai prayed for
the prosperous of
Garan and protection
of his esoteric Buddhism.
後に伽藍建立に
着手しますが
順調に工事が進められた
と伝わっています
As a result, it is said that
the construction was
proceeded smoothly.
現在も
悪疫、水難、火難の
消滅を祈願する参拝者が
断えません
Many people continue to
visit this shrine and pray
for the extinction of plaque,
and water or fire related
disasters to this day.
「来週は温泉に行こう！」
駐車場に戻り、
車に乗り込みながら
マスターが張り切ります
Let’s go to Hot Spring
next week!
The master suggested
cheerfully.
マルタカファミリーの
おかげで
私の高野山生活は
順調で快適で楽しく.....
Because of their support,
my new life in Koyasan
has been smooth, comfortable,
and enjoyable.
あっという間に
月日は流れ
来月でもう1年です
It’s hard to believe that
it’s been almost 1 year
since I moved from Hawaii.
感謝の気持ちしか
ありません
There are no words to
express my gratitude.
