突然歯が折れました
My tooth was suddenly
broken.
昨日の奥の院
上の前歯から三本目の
犬歯です
It was a canine tooth
in the upper.
久しぶりでしたので
焦りました
I was in shock since
it didn’t happen for long time.
12年前、
膠原病から
シェーグレン症候群を
引き起こしました
I was diagnosed with
Sjogren’s Syndrome
12 years ago.
シェーグレン症候群は
涙腺や唾液腺に炎症を起こし
分泌腺を破壊するため
ドライアイやドライマウスの
乾燥症状がでる病気です
Sjogren’s Syndrome is
an autoimmune disease,
which attacks the glands
that make tears and saliva.
As a result, it causes a dry
mouth and dry eyes.
ドライマウスは虫歯が
できやすくなり、
歯がもろくなります。

increase cavities and
brittle teeth.
下の歯が次々に折れるその様は
まさに”ホラー”でした
It was just like a horror movie
that my teeth of the lower jaw
started to break one by one.
最終的には
残った7本を抜歯し
5本のインプラントを
入れるという”大工事”をし
全工程にまる三年
かかりました
At last, all seven teeth
were extracted and
five implants were
placed. It took three years
to complete the whole
procedure.
先週
クリーニングのために
初めて訪れた
松岡歯科医院の先生は
私のインプラントを見て

said
「こんなやり方見たことない」
I’ve never seen such
procedure.
と感嘆というよりは
やや呆れ気味の
これからの治療が
不安になるコメントを
くださいました
His comment made me
a little concern because
he sounded like disapproved
rather than impressed.
けれども
今回折れましたのは
自分の歯でしたので
Because it was my own
tooth, not an implant,
手際よくレントゲンを撮り、
詳しく説明してくださり、
he skillfully took X-rays,
explained thoroughly,
その日のうちに
折れた歯の虫歯治療と
神経を抜いてくださいました
took care of the cavity and
nerve.
来週早々に型取りです
He will take an impression
of my tooth next week.
歯の治療, 特にインプラントに
関してはアメリカの技術の方が
進んでいると思いましたが、
I always thought that
dental, especially technology
of dental implants was
more advanced in the USA
however,
アメリカのように
選択肢も与えず
すぐに抜歯するよりも
rather than USA, which
tends to extract teeth
without giving any other
options
自分の歯をなるべく
温存しようという
日本の治療の方が
信頼できます
I now like the dentists in
Japan, who try to preserve
the teeth.
それに
On top of that
高野山だからでしょうか
I wonder because it is
in Koyasan,
待たずに予約がすぐに

大変ありがたいです

appointments.
ハワイに比べますと
治療費も良心的です

12年前はコンシェルジュという
