長い梅雨の間、
延ばし延ばしになっていたことを
インターネットで
南向きの南都銀行があります。
紀陽銀行には
口座開設には
ひとつひとつ片付けていましたら、
8月も終わりに近づいてしまいました。
While I was working on the stuff,
which I kept postponing to do
during the rainy season, August
is almost over.
大学院に退学届を出し、
I submitted a withdrawal
notice to Koyasan University.
保健所に膠原病の申請をし、
I submitted an application
to Department of Health.
米国移民局から許可証を
取り寄せ、
I’ve earned an permission
for the extension from
the US Immigration.
先日は通訳案内士の研修に
申し込みました。
Then, I applied for an interpreter
training.
そして今日は、
銀行口座を開きました。
Today, I opened a new
bank account.
今までは、日本の銀行口座は
ゆうちょだけでした。
Until now, I only had an account
with Japan Post Bank.
2008年に始めた四国遍路に
ゆうちょは欠かせません。
Having an account with
Japan Post Bank is essential
for pilgrimage on Shikoku
Island.
地方を歩いていますと、
銀行のない所が多いですし、
When you walk around
the rural areas, it is hard to
find a bank.
歩き遍路の場合、
何十日分の現金を持って
歩くのは危険です。
It is too risky to carry
so much cash when you
walk for days.
高野山に移住してからも
郵便局にはなにかと
お世話になっていますが、
I’ve depended on the Post
Office in Koyasan a lot
since I moved here, however,
ゆうちょの口座を使用すると
何度が不都合が生じたので、
別に銀行口座を開設することに
したのです。
I’ve encountered some
difficulties when I used the account
with Japan Post Bank on the
internet.
高野山には、北向きの紀陽銀行と、
In Koyasan, there is
Kiyo Bank on the north side of
the street, and
南向きの南都銀行があります。
Nanto Bank on the south side
of the street.
紀陽銀行には
失礼ですが....
I feel bad, but
外から見た感じが
“明るい”
南都銀行に決めました。
I’ve decided to open
my account with Nanto Bank
only because it looked bright
from outside.
口座開設には
身分証明書が必要ですが、
It requires ID to open
a new account.
私は日本の車の免許証を
持っていませんので、
パスポートと保険証、
そして印鑑を持参しました。
Because I don’t have Japan
issued drive’s license, so
I brought my passport,
Medical Insurance and
a seal.
3種類ほど書類の
記入をしなければ
なりませんが、
手続きはいたって
簡単です。
I had to fill out the three
different forms, but it was’t
a big deal.
そして、
二種類の通帳から、
奥の院で出会したシカを
思い出し選んだ通帳ですが、
I picked the passbook
with deer because it reminded
me with the deer I saw in
Oku-no-in.
南都銀行は奈良の銀行だから
シカなのですね。
It has deer on it because
Nanto Bank is founded in Nara.
残すは
日本のクレジットカードを
作るだけです。
All I have to do now is
to apply for a credit card.
もともと日本人ですから、
自分の生まれた国に帰るだけ...
と簡単に考えていましたが、
I’m a Japanese, so I thought
it would be so simple to
come back to the country
I was born, but
33年も離れると
日本人に戻るのにも
それなりに
時間がかかるものです。
It takes longer than I expected
to go back to “Japanese”
after living abroad for
33 years.
