山に囲まれているからだと
思うのですが、

ハワイにいる時と比べると
虫が身近になりました。
I often encounter bugs.
ハワイで一番多く見かけたのは、

ゲコです。

高野山に越して来てからは、
蜘蛛をよくみます。
Nowadays I see spiders a lot.
先日、雨かな？と、
ベランダを見ましたら、
The other day, when I looked at
the veranda from my window,
いもむし。
I saw a caterpillar.
1.5cmほどのいもむしが、
ベランダの物干し竿を
右から左へ一所懸命に
移動していました。
He was about 1.5cm and moving
from right to left on the laundry pole.
2時間後に見ましたら、
今度は、
左から右に移動中でした。
Two hours later,
I saw him moving from
left to right.
右の一番端まで来て、
もう後がないので
どうするのかと
思いましたら、
He reached the end of the pole,
so I was wondering what he would do.
半身を剃り返し、
雄叫びをあげ、
(聞こえわけではありません。
そう見えただけです)
He lifted the top half of his body and
opened his mouth so big as he looked
like shouting.
そして次の瞬間、
真っ逆さまに
落下.....
Then, the next moment,
he fell from the pole....
まるで手品のように、
糸が垂れ、
but, all of sudden, a thread came out
like a magic, and
ブラブラブラ
と、ぶらさがりました。
He was hanging in the air.
そこから、
物凄い速さで、
上に上り始めました。
Then, he started climbing up
at unbelievable speed.
ここまで、目が離せず、
息をのんで成り行きを
見守っていましたが、
I was holding my breath and
kept watching him but finally
told myself,
「カメラ、カメラ」
と、iPhone片手にした時は
時すでに遅し。
「gotta take pictures ！」
but, it was too late.
垂れ下がった状態から、
上にあがる様子は、
The way he was going up
was
シルク・ドゥ・ソレイユを
見ているようでした。
just like Silk de Soleil.
物干し竿に無事に戻ったいもむしは
何事もなかったかのように
また右から左へ移動し始めました。
He came back to the pole and
started moving again from
right to left.
絶妙のタイミングで
高野山の正午の音楽が流れ始めました！
It was the perfect timing that
the Koyasan music at noon had begun!
楽しくて仕方ない高野山。
Everything is so enjoyable at Koyasan.
