The highly anticipated ecru version of my
"The Wind and Thunder Gods Screen" is finally here.
This exquisite piece beautifully matches the rustic texture of the ecru canvas
with the unique, exotic atmosphere radiated by the Wind and Thunder Gods.
墨滴での汚し加工によって、雲間の禍々しさを表現し、雷神風神の持つ力強さ
をより一層強くイメージさせる演出にしてみました。
By applying a distressed finish with Sumi ink droplets, I have captured
the ominous atmosphere between the clouds,
further intensifying the powerful presence of the Wind and Thunder Gods.
豊岡市内を流れる円山川の一望できる秘密の場所から撮影してみました。
This photograph was taken from a secluded location,
offering a breathtaking, sweeping view of the Maruyama River as
it flows through Toyooka City.
ちょうど雲海が見えますね。

雲海は…
・放射冷却状態であること。
⇒夜間に雲のない状態が続き、地表の熱が上空へ逃げて気温が下がり、
空気中の水蒸気が冷やされて霧になること
・日中と朝方の気温差が 10℃以上 あること。
⇒前日の日中が暖かく明け方にグッと冷え込む日
・ 高い湿度であること。
⇒前日に雨が降っていたり、水分が多い環境がベスト
・風速が 1〜2m/s程度の無風に近い状態であること。
⇒風が強いと霧が拡散してしまうため
・安定した空気層であること。
⇒上空に暖かく乾燥した空気の層があることで、霧が上空へ発達せず
水平に広がる安定した状態
などの気象条件が運よく重なってみられる奇跡のような風景です。
A sea of clouds is…
a miraculous landscape that appears only when a specific set of meteorological
conditions luckily align:
• Radiational Cooling: A clear, cloudless night allows surface heat to escape into
the upper atmosphere, dropping the temperature and cooling water vapor into
thick fog.
• A Temperature Drop of 10°C or More: The ideal scenario is a warm daytime
followed by a sharp temperature plunge at dawn.
• High Humidity: High moisture in the air is essential, making days following
a rainfall the absolute best.
• Near-Calm Winds (1–2 m/s): High winds will disperse the fog, so near-windless
conditions are required to keep it intact.
• An Atmospheric Inversion (Stable Air Layer): A layer of warm,
dry air above traps the fog below, preventing it from rising and allowing it to
spread horizontally into a beautiful, stable blanket.
