"The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones" is one of a series of six fantasy books written by Cassandra Clare and has been transformed into a film, directed by Harald Zwart, which hit cinemas across the USA and several other countries on August 21. The story follows the adventures of Clary Fray, a 15-year-old who finds herself thrown into the murky world of demons and magic.
Twitter users are now sharing their opinions on the movie as well as those of professional movie critics, several of whom seem rather unimpressed.wrote "'City of Bones' is so overwhelmed by CGI effects that it amounts to white noise for the eyes."wrote "The action flick is overly long, complicated and, even by teen romance standards, cringe-worthy in its cheesiness."
