Innovative: Augmented Reality (AR) project

 

Jaeger-LeCoultre revealed its latest designs at the 2017 Geneva SIHH international watch trade show, before they had even been manufactured. 

 

Visitors to the stand could ‘try on’ the virtual watches on their wrist, fresh from the industrial design office: they received a paper bracelet embossed with the brand logo and elegant patterns.

 

When placed under one of the tablet booths, the 3D image of the watch of their choice magically appeared on their wrist – making trying on the entire collection as simple as a flick of the wrist.

Monitoring of biochemical parameters on the skin’s surface:

 

The startup’s Lab-on-Skin sensing platform aims to extend the functionality of wearable devices with continuous to real-time health information. Xsensio’s miniature-sized chip (25 mm2) collects sweat, based on micro capillarity forces, then reads and analyzes its composition in real time. A multitude of biomarkers ranging from electrolytes and metabolites to molecules and proteins can be measured.

 

Users are provided with real-time personalized data:

 

+ detect dehydration

+ fatigue

+ muscle cramps

+ later on also disease risk factors

 

 

The award-winning startup Xsensio was founded in 2014 and is based in EPFL Innovation Park, Ecublens, Switzerland.
