For Mac Word 2011: Go to File on the menu bar --> Page Setup; Change the settings to Microsoft Word; Click on the Margins button; Click on the Layout Button, then select 'Different first page' and click OK; Now you have a different first page header. In the box for Header you can change how far the header is from the top of the page. This will shrink or expand the header. To change the size of the font in your header, highlight the words inside the header, go to the font size icon on the top panel, and scroll to the size of the font you want.
