(Sorry it's a couple days late, writing blogs routinely is hard!)

Today I surprisingly didn't have anything planned, which kind of threw off the entire day. Nevertheless, I woke up and left the house around 10:00 and decided to head to Ginza.

I guess an underlying reason why I wanted to go there was because of Dover Street Market Ginza (DSMG). I've always heard about Dover Street Market through social media and Reddit and the store sounded pretty cool. I've also heard that the DSMG was one of the bigger DSM stores since it's located in Japan, a country specializing in all kinds of fashion.

Dover Street Market housed all of kinds of different high fashion items. After exploring each and every floor, I started to understand more about what high fashion really is. To be honest, I have a lot to say on whether Street wear is high fashion and vice versa since streetwear has been gaining popularity very fast recently, but Dover Street market really marks the line between high fashion and everything else. It really opened up my mind about how I want to dress and represent myself. From here on out I've been thinking about how I really really want to dress and I don't want to simply be a "hypebeast" just to show off how much money I can put on my body. I guess summing up my ideas about all this, people should be more respectful of brands and their story and lineage rather than just buying it just as a status symbol of wealth. Talking about this in the blog is a bit complicated since I'm sure I would be able to offend many people on this topic but nevertheless I think it's the dialogue worth having someday since the number of hypebeasts in the United States and Canada has been growing significantly within the past couple years. While writing this part I have come to the conclusion that I can go on ranting about why it's not good to be a hypebeast but since this is just a standard blog I won't do that here. In any case Dover Street market was very influential on me and it really makes me wonder how I'm going to dress in the future, from my life in Tokyo now till the day I die.

Afterwards, I just decided to head back to my place to catch up on writing my blog because it's starting to become very difficult to do it routinely. On a different route home, which just means a couple blocks off the normal path, I ran into a blue widebody SW20 MR2.

I was really surprised when I saw this because it's one of the few cool cars that I've seen up until now in Tokyo. In being one of the few cars that I've seen up to now it really shocked me because it is an Toyota MR2! I'm quite sure you guys all know that that is one of my beloved cars of all time as I had a AW11 for the past year and a half. This car particularly looked like it was built for high-speed races on the shutoukou (Tokyo City Highway), since it was widebody, had built-in headlights, lots of aero parts and a built 3S-GTE engine. Just seeing this car gave me a crazy sensation as I cannot wait to buy my next car. I swear the Toyota MR2 is always calling for me because it always seems to pop up in the most unusual locations wherever I am. I still am considering this car as a future car but as I continue my trip in Japan I want to experience more vehicles so that I can make the right decision for me when I head back to the United States.

After getting home and writing the blog for days one and zero, I had the need to go to Harajuku one more time today because I was so influenced by Dover Street market that I wanted to try and see if I can buy some new clothes. So I headed to the station and went all the way to Harajuku.
Since I had no plan today, this was just a random trip. I didn't really know what I was going to do but I wanted to keep exploring the area because there were so many stores that I passed up when I was there with my friend Mayuka. I thought I would give it a shot and check them out.

Since I didn't go to the Bape store in Harajuku yesterday, I went to go check it out. But I wasn't too surprised about the items because they are all standard release and expensive too. Again, after going to Dover Street market my thoughts on how I really wanted to dress started to change and even though I still think Bape is still cool, I really couldnt bring myself to buy anything immediately.

I also made another stop at the Reebok classics store again. Today I was actually wearing my Beams collab Instapump furys and as walked into the store and talked to the employees, they told me they really really like them. They told me they sold out very very fast and people lined up for them at all locations that sold them. I told them I am from the United States I had bought them easily online at END clothing. They were surprised when I told them it took about 30 minutes to sell out and the reason why is because the Instapump fury is not really that popular in North America. Up to now I've seen so many Instapump furys on the streets, it really is crazy. Back in Seattle and Vancouver I hardly see them at all because people are really just into sneakers that have Boost technology from Adidas. Although people don't like the design in North America, I really think that the instapump fury is one of my favorite silhouettes mainly because it's rare to see and the design is just really unique. It also surprises me that the model is over 20 years old now and just because of that alone shows that Reebok was ahead of the times over 20 years ago. The store didn't have any specific colorway that I wanted as I really only look for more rare colorways, so after chatting with the employees I left in search for more things.

I really can't say more about Harajuku other than the sheer quantity of clothing stores. I went in and out of many stores and because of that I really couldn't bring myself to buy anything because I started to become more confused about how I wanted to dress again. I never would've thought that I would've been in this predicament but if anything it really helps me think farther than I did in Seattle about dressing.

Empty-handed, I decided to go look for dessert. On my way to Harajuku, I saw that there was an ice monster here so I decided to go to it because I have seen pictures of ice monster in different locations on Instagram and I really wanted to try the milk tea shaved ice. it's taste really lived up to my expectations. Very very good.

Realizing that I didn't really want to do anymore shopping I decided to go home and turn in for the night. Although I didn't have a plan set up for today, everything that I did really influenced me and made me grow in just a few hours. Japan is so influential I really can't believe I'm still here.
