●Career of Akiko Suzuki
She started her career of skating when she was six years old. Due to her effort, she got good prizes at 2001-2002 Junior Grand Prix Final when she was high school student. However, she became eating disorder when she graduated high school and left her home. So, she couldn’t participate in the meets in 2003-2004. But she finally overcame her disease. After that, she became to get good prizes, like first prize, after 2006.
●What is figure skating?
Figure skating is a sport which performed on figure skates on ice.
Players jump and step during performance.
So figure skating is one of the most popular sports in Japan now.

Akiko Suzuki won the 2014 Japan championship. She became the oldest the champion this competition.
●Suffer and re-starting of Akiko Suzuki
When she went on to university, Suzuki Akiko left her home and lodged in the house of coach to focus on the practice. But due to the great changes in life, she suffered from eating disorders. She grew too weak to continue to practice skating. She get back to her home, and had been troubled by anxiety for long time, but thanks to her mother, who devoted herself to support Akiko, she became the top skater again at last.
●WINNING ALL JAPAN FIGURE SKATING CHAMPIONSHIP 2013
She successfully came back from eating disorder. However she wasn’t able to win All Japan figure skate championship though she has taken participated in this completion twelve times. Therefore she lost her own confidence just before championship 2013. Afterward she recovered her confidence with Mr.Nagakubo, who is her coach and decided to do her best. Consequently her performance at championship 2013 was very good and won the championship. It is the first time for her to win All Japan figure skating championship.
●Why we think she is best player
Akiko Suzuki is a Japanese figure skating player. When she is a college student, she suffered from eating disorder. However, she didn’t give up continuing figure skating and she won All Japan figure skating championship 2013. We think her persistence is very great. So we think she is the best sports star in the world.
