Japanese financial company's settlement reports are on the table. All of them are poor.
The main causes are the loss from securities revaluation and the transfer to reserve for possible loan losses. Though both of them don't cause cash drain, they are still accounting loss.
On the contrary, when it comes to a phase of recovery, we post profit without any cash inflow.
Isn't it strange? Reporting profits, we are surely accused of "They escaped paying tax".
It is just a matter of timing. Because we pay in advance, we don't pay tax.
"CSR" means companies have to pursue not only profit but social responsibilities such as corporate governance and disclosure because they are owned by the stakeholders like clients, stockholders, employees, local community etc.
Yesterday, an article of Nikkei newspaper explained this concept in a novel way.
"It is required for companies to seek further efficiency while also considering the relationship with the local community. At the same time, the efficiency of all society is also required."
When it focuses too much on environmental problem or contribution to reginal community, I feel bored because it is like moral teaching. But I could accept this explanation easily.
