Hello Everyone!
My name is Sari Okada.
Six years ago, My mother and I immigrated to Japan from China. At the time, I was 16 years old. Before I arrived in Nagano, I didn't speak any Japanese at all and I knew very little about the country I now call home. Instead of going to a Japanese language school, however, I went directly into high school. It was really hard for me because I couldn't speak the language. And if you can't speak the language, then it is very difficult to make friends. I told myself that I would be able to speak Japanese very well then if I tried hard enough. I uesd all my energy to learn Japanses and interact with others. Over time, I learned the language ,made friends and even obtained Japanese nationality.
My greatest pession is traveling. I think travelling not only broadens horizons, but also cultivates your mind and develops your sense of empathy.
Through my schooling in Japan and my travels, Many people have helped me grow as a person. I hope that I too will be able to help others. I have the confidence to overcome any difficulties, but it is much easier with the support of others.
I love life, I love everyone around me. I am especially grateful to my parents. They always supported me and took care of me. To participate in 2012 Miss Universe Japan Nagano Conference it is because I want to grow as a person. Since childhood, I dreamed about beauty contests and I dreamed that one day I could stand on the stage. Thank you for providing me with this opportunity to fulfill the dream.
With the courage and confidence I have gained and the support of loved ones, I look forward to starting even more exciting journeys in my life.
