When Shuzo was eight, he saw his sister playing tennis. So he was interested in tennis. He always played tennis and did not study at school at all. When he was in the third year in high school, he met Bob Brett who was famous tennis coach. He went to America and joined "Hopeman Camp" which was famous tennis club. After he graduated from American high school, he turned pro tennis player.

In 1986,Shuzo turned professional tennis player. He reached World No.46 in singles in 1992 and the rank was the highest place in Japan in those days.In 1995,he become the best eight in Wimbledon ,which is counted as one of the four major games and he was regarded as one of the best tennis player in the world. In 1997,he retired his career at the age of 30 and he get down to sports commentator, tennis coach,.

After his retirement, he started the project of “Shuzo Challenge”. In this program, he plans about 4-day tennis camp. Then he gathers about 15 greatest junior tennis players who are trying for world stage, and he tells them not only tennis techniques but also strong spirit for their improvement. Surprisingly, Japanese professional tennis player Kei Nishikori graduated from this program when he was young. I hope Shuzo’s students will succeed to Kei sometime soon.

As you know, Shuzo is very keen a man. Shuzo`s words are very keen too. His words make us brave, active and keen. I think his words have special powers. For example, “Don`t worry, be happy!!” , “If you become serious, you can change yourself.”, “Become more passionate!!!!!”. Not only Japanese, but also foreign people are impressed by his words. His words travel all over the world, so he may be internationally passionate man.
