Here is NAIGU's main building.

Official name: Kodai Jingu (皇大神宮)
Main enshrined deity: Amaterasu Omikami (天照大御神)
Amaterasu Omikami is believed as ancestor of our Emperor.
and Shintai (object of worship) is Yatano Kagami (mirror)
Yatano Kagami is known as one of Three Sacred Treasures,
which was brought when the Gods' descent.
Amaterasu rules the heaven,
and her grand son, Ninigi no mikoto, descends earth.
Ninigi's great-grand son is the emperor Jinmu
who is the first emperor in our history.
Long time later, our emperor Akihito is 125th emperor
after Jinmu emperor.
Well, it's long-long history from the myth, isn't it?
Also, Jimu emperor's enthrone date is
our public holiday as National Foundation Day.
Our National Foundation Day is origined by myth.
At the same time, Amaterasu is believed as the God of the Sun.
We can't live without the Sun...
no food can be grown.
That's the reason why Ise-Jingu is so important for our life.
It's not important we believe Shinto or not, I think.
This is the good place to think back our everyday's life
and thank to all our lives.
Well, the main building enshrined Amaterasu's calm spirit.
