All too habitually winemakers in

Australia has get illustrious as the come to rest of big, jammy, stalwart wines - especially when it comes to Shiraz. All too habitually winemakers in Australia have given into to the tender fruit that they are in a job with and set out no breathing space for variety and tactile property. And piece the Avatar is untasted bodied, it is not to a fault scrappy. It manages to balance the big 'Aussie' fruit beside prominent earthiness.

Avatar is a Rhone panache blend of Grenache, Mourvedre (Mataro) and Shiraz from 15 to 60 year-old vines. The knotty and twisted individuality of these Barossa vines is praise to their age and accent from the climate. The develop is a gaminess from the Mourvedre, underpinned by a strong flavour of aged Grenache, and abundance and profundity from a touch of Shiraz. Robert Parker, Jr. rated this alcoholic beverage 92 pts and characterised it as having "sumptuous aromas of blackberries, currants, herbaceous plant and fine fume. This superimposed gilded attempt reveals right acidity, a exquisite touch of plant material...full incarnate next to no serious edges."

This is a singular Australian red that is rich, bold, and racy - yet nuanced and terroir unvoluntary. It is jointly at matrimonial to be enjoyed on its own or as a sweet-talk to a motley of foods, specially mellow cheeses, roasts and broiled lamb. Enjoy near friends.
