“Defect Treatment of Polycrystalline Germanium Thin Films by Hydrogen Diffusion from Amorphous Silicon Layer”
Abstract: We have researched the defect passivation of the crystalline germanium films formed by the solid phase crystallization due to the hydrogen diffusion from amorphous silicon layer. The absorption coefficients decreased in longer wavelength than 1500 nm by the treatment. Measurement by Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometer showed the hydrogen diffusion into the crystalline Germanium films. It is suggested that the hydrogen diffusion treatment from amorphous Silicon layer is effective to passivate the grain-boundary defects of germanium.
