大きなことを成し遂げる為に、力を与えて欲しいと神に求めたのに、
謙虚さを学ぶようにと、弱さを授かった
偉大なことができるように健康を求めたのに、
より良きことをするうようにと、病気をたまわった
幸せになろうと、富を求めたのに、
賢明であるようにと、貧困を授かった
世の人々の賞賛を得ようとして、成功を求めたのに、
得意にならないようにと、失敗を授かった
人生を享受しようとしてあらゆるものを求めたのに、
求めたものはひとつとして、与えられなかったが、
願いはすべて聞きとどけられた
神の意にそわぬ者であるにもかかわらず、
心の中の言い表せない祈りは、すべて叶えられた
私はもっとも豊かに祝福されたのだ
