It's a big topic in Taiwan now. I have to admit that I didn't pay attention to this news at the beginning. I mean, I did know that some's killed. but... EVERYDAY THERE'S SOMEONE GOT KILLED. Sadly it happens. however, I didn't know things would turn to this serious problem.
I started to notice this because one of my friends post an article from PPT* on Facebook. (PPT: Originally from BBS, Bulletin Board System. A very popular website among young people It's also popular among internet news reporters. It's pathetic but a common phenomenon that reporters often report "news" from PPT articles or VDOs from YouTube here in Taiwan. In my opinion...that's why I don't watch TV everyday, if there's some "news", I'd know earlier by just checking my Facebook.)
So... there's an article about starting a "war" on the internet. Some computer engineers created a website to make Philippine websites collapses. The process is easy, just open the page and hang it there, the page will automatically refresh(F5) the Philippine gov's site. When it comes to a certain amount of loading data, the website goes down. However, the Philippines attacked back soon, and their government also blocked IP from Taiwan as well. Just when it seemed like Taiwan's losing, a group of Hackers who called themselves Anonymous came out and collapsed DNS of Philippine gov web, and also they made some of accounts and passwords known to public .
↑ This is absolutely rock. (Felt like being in a movie.)
(cough) As I'm coughing I'm thinking about whether to write about the incident or not.
As the matter of the fact, it's not only me who know little about this. I believe that the people of Philippine have no clues just as we Taiwanese do. I understand that the passion and the duty of being a nation is gathering each people of the two sides... Still, I hope everyone can judge by their conscious and figure out the truth. (after all, there are three version of every stories...your version, my version and the truth)
I still have to write about what I've know though. As what I've known so far, the Taiwanese fishermen went to do their job in the economic sea areas around Philippine. However, it was assumed that they've gone across the boundry by Philippine gov, and they claimed: illegal. Therefore they attacked those fishermen. And they insist what has happened is that after the Philippines warned them, the Taiwanese ship (廣大興28號/広大興28号) collided them. Therefore, the action had to be taken...they shoot at the ship (and of course the fishermen as well) for... we don't have the statistic of that. But it turns out they left 52 bullet holes on the ship.
The truth hasn't been told yet, in my humble opinion (or if anyone think me as arrogant, doesn't matter. I take it all), as long as the VCR is not given out by Philippine, it's never the "Truth" but the "lopsided view" of Philippine.
It's doubtful that an unarmed ship collide a armed government ship, isn't it? Think about it with your knees. (it's no-brainer!)
However, there are few things which happened following the incident that I was very upset about.
First of all, the fighting on the internet. Not only between us and the Philippines, but also between our people. People are angry, I do understand that. But the problem of starting a war with Philippine is WAY COMPLICATED than what we've seen. There's America, and there's China. It's not just between us and Philippines, but also the area of Pacific.
and all of those who says they will go fight for Taiwan... I don't even believe in them = =" They just talk about it on the internet...
It's a whole mess... I really wish it can be over soon enough!
If any Philippines are reading this by chance, I really want you to understand:
THE TRUTH HAS NOT BEEN REVEALED YET.
A request for VCR is needed. Many of you think the Taiwanese and our government is arrogant? Prove it by showing the VCR to public.
