Mr. Jacobs is one of fashion’s most prescient Replica Louis Vuitton designers. This collection was the best news the industry could possibly receive, a sign of heady hedonism to come. It would have been possible over the last few years to have underestimated Mr. Alfaro as a guy who makes nice dresses. As Lawrence of Arabia once said, “Nothing is written.”
With a combination of sheer will, smart politics and an enviable ability to figure out the needs of such coveted clients as those recently well-married Miller sisters, Mr. Alfaro has made himself into much, much more than a Louis Vuitton Handbags designer. There are many designers as talented as Mr. Alfaro. But without his other qualities, they couldn’t possibly expect to be where he was on Saturday, working with some of the most sumptuous fabrics this season and with impressive front-row guests, including the fellow Latin American Oscar de la Renta.
In the deepest ink blue, olive, burgundy and camel, Mr. Alfaro’s mink-trimmed camel-hair jackets, belted cashmere cardigans, thick leather Louis Vuitton with mink collars, open-weave crocheted cardigans and slim belted suits offered fresh, clean luxury, a step above conservative chic. Mr. Alfaro seems to have determined that he will dress the young ladies who lunch. And what is clear is that, if Mr. Alfaro determines something, he gets it.
There is perhaps no designer more underestimated than Ms. Johnson, who has more life, youth and energy in her shows than there are in the average mosh pit. This season, she gave tribute to Valentino Handbags fashion, with each segment tailored to landmarks in the rocker’s life: the Chelsea Hotel, Max’s Kansas City, the Kitchen, CBGB, the Factory, the Village Gate and Lady Astor’s. With all the Marc Jacobs Wallets models in black Patti Smith wigs, Ms. Johnson showed baby doll and earth mother, monastic and metal and what she called “lava-lamp blue minithong dress” and “chlorine blue Buddha jeans and fur kimono.”
It was all to the tunes of “People Have the Designer Replica Handbags ,” “Dancing Barefoot” and “So You Want to Be a Rock ‘n’ Roll Star,” ending with Ultra, a new all-black collection in jersey that will be more expensive than the main Betsey Johnson line. It seems time for Ms. Johnson to seize her own star status. While plying the audience with caviar and salmon, Ms. Sarne showed the least decadent-looking clothes of the group, many in blinding white. There were minimalist tunics slashed up the front, hooded dresses, lean mandarin collar suits with tiny hooks up the front and pretty long bias-cut dresses. She also played with tweeds for the first time, in salt-and-pepper stretch fabrics.
And Ms. Miller, who took her minimalism a bit too far last season, bounced back with computer-generated prints, hexagonal pieced color-blocked sheath dresses and cool new Sergeant Pepper jackets that snapped up the front. Ghost and Ms. Miller both offer fashion Mont Blanc Wallets for a fair price, and it is the spirit of their shows that make them work on the runway in a pricey world that excludes far too many women.
